McCain originally voted against the establishment of a federal holiday for MLK.
Huh.
Sounds like a guy I want to ru(i)n my country.

Letterman Transcript
From Foxnews.com
Dave Letterman: " ... And I’m wondering, if he had picked Sarah Palin before you picked Joe Biden, is there a chance that maybe you would have selected somebody else? Would that have affected your choice?”
Dave Letterman: " ... And I’m wondering, if he had picked Sarah Palin before you picked Joe Biden, is there a chance that maybe you would have selected somebody else? Would that have affected your choice?”
Obama: “You know, the way I thought about it was, ‘Who’s going to help me govern? Who’s the person I want in the room if we’ve got a big decision to make? Who’s going to be able to give me good counsel, good advice, who’s able to maybe have some ideas that I don’thave or give me a perspective that I haven’t seen, and I think that nobody can do that better than Joe Biden.” (audience applauds) “And I know what he cares about and what he stands for - I think he’s going to be a great choice.”

Palin the Fashionista
"At first they had me in a bunch of furs," she said of the photo shoot. "Yeah, I have furs on my wall, but I don't wear furs. I had to show them my bunny boots and my North Face clothing."
Sarah Palin, describing her Vogue photo shoot.
i'm sorry ... do "bunny boots" not qualify as wearing fur?

Palin the Economist
From the Huffington Post:
"Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." The companies, as McClatchy reported, "aren't taxpayer funded but operate as private companies. The takeover may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization."
...
"You would like to think that someone who is going to be vice president and conceivable president would know what Fannie and Freddie do," said Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. "These are huge institutions and they are absolutely central to our country's mortgage debt. To not have a clue what they do doesn't speak well for her, I'd say."

Palin, World traveler
from CBSnews.com:
"GIBSON: But as you know, the questions revolve really around foreign policy experience. Can you honestly say you feel confident having someone who hasn't traveled outside the United States until last year, dealing with an insurgent Russia, with an Iran with nuclear ambitions, with an unstable Pakistan, not to mention the war on terror?
MCCAIN: Sure. And one of the key elements of America's national security requirements are energy. She understands the energy issues better than anybody I know in Washington, D.C., and she understands. Alaska is right next to Russia. She understands that."

16 oz. $3.00 refills $1.50"

A New One (or, Sorry for Doing this Instead of Yours, Darren)
This is a combo of two pics i took in chicago ... 4 feet by 2 feet, acrylic on board.
One was from the Lincoln Park Zoo (a free zoo that is awesome) and one was the "touch and go chess party" setup on Michigan ave, i think.
note: i think this painting is the longest ever for me ... not only in time in painting it, but also in time elapsed between work sessions. it's been about 2 weeks from start to finish.
