really enjoyed this painting, even though it had been sitting 1/4 finished in my studio for a month or two. I wasn't sure if i would enjoy finishing it, but i went ahead and gave it a shot.
Really pleased with the results ... finer lines and more detail than i usually employ, so that's a welcome change ... new pallet for me ... used a dry brush blending method for the water, which i never use ... but, anyway, please to enjoy. Comments welcome.
it feels intimate to me - worn out, maybe a little tired (the building), but taken care of. I like the sense of looking into this quiet place, knowing I will soon walk down to the water's edge, where I will pause and watch the fading day. I might eve sit a spell, listening to the lapping waves before walking around to the front door to be greeted by smiling faces.
